Great advice as usual.

Just a quickie, I moved to the mainland from Maui a little over 40 years ago and reading your story made me aware that when hiking back then we used peripheral awareness a lot because the rustling

in the shrubbery wasn't chickens but very likely wild boar, and you don't be cluckin' around with them because they will cluck you up.
