How do F1 drivers prepare the night before a race?
Do you ever wonder what Formula One drivers do the night before a race? They’re probably out partying, right? Or maybe just a long dinner with a some really nice wine and a group of friends? That might have been the norm back in the James Hunt era, but not today.
Some look at modern F1 (as well as Indy car, NASCAR, and maybe even IMSA) drivers and think they’re spoiled by the private jets and lavish lifestyle that goes along with all the money they make (which some make a huge amount of, and some don’t!).
What do today’s best drivers do the night before a race?
Many would be surprised at how late most drivers are still at the track the evening before a big race, going through data, engineering briefings, and strategy meetings. Then, finally, they get back to their hotels, and that’s where a lot of the pre-race preparation really begins.
